The Austin Board of REALTORS ® released “The Truth About Austin’s Missing Housing,” a new research report revealing Austin’s severe undersupply of housing inventory. The groundbreaking report highlights common barriers that contribute to higher housing costs and offers actionable policy recommendations aimed to bridge the gap between residents and missing housing throughout Travis County and the city of Austin.

ABoR’s analysis reinforces the need for the policy changes that are already in motion. Emily Chenevert, chief executive officer of ABoR, commended Mayor Watson and the Austin City Council for their bold leadership and commitment to tackling Austin’s housing affordability crisis head-on.
