How to manage your team #18: Recruiting

Always keep an eye out for new talent

Even if you’re fully satisfied with your team, keep talented recruits in orbit. Stay in touch with candidates who could be good additions when needed.

As a team leader, it’s your job to be calm when someone leaves your team. Although others may panic, you should reassure your teammates others are available, you have a plan and everything is under control.

If targets of your recruiting are working part-time at the moment, occasionally throw them a freelance project and get them used to your culture to test if they are “getting it.” You never know when you will need them.
