One of the most important muscles you should deploy is the ability to delegate

I once hired a seasoned business consultant who asked our management team to list all their daily tasks – and what they could delegate to others.

For so many new managers, it’s difficult. They believe they’ve been successful because of their accomplishments. They fear letting go, worried they’ll deplete their power. Just the opposite.

Delegating tasks creates time you can do more significant work – nurturing your team, charting its direction, improving performance and efficiency. It gives you a chance to evaluate how your team handles new challenges. And it shows you trust them to manage the areas you carefully handled previously.
